"Well there’s fright night on the radio"
So a while ago [info]kaitou1412 had a birthday, as people tend to, and I didn't field anything for it. Well, I had planned one piece of art, but it was a bit random - which is to say it involved referencing this piece.

Eventually I came up with a better idea;

Fortunately for the rest of the Horticultural Club, Sophie knew just what to say to smooth over the social situation with the Giant.

Korean Paper Children are my new love. Which is problematic, as I don't have a decent camera and that's sort of necessary.

Assuming that between now and then no one manages to convince me that buying a digital camera just to photograph chibis is a bit batshit, I'll photographic it again properly tomorrow but I wanted to post it tonight anyway - Happy Late Birthday, Ann, and get well soon.

Oh. My. God.
OMG!
*flails*
I can't even describe the love I have for this. It's SO going in the Sophie Canon.

\o\ \o/ /o/

There were a couple of pictures I did, by the way, where I was wearing kid gloves. They didn't come out right, alas, but they looked so damn proper.

I've seen them around a couple of times before but it was only just this morning that I realised they were their own genre, like chibis, rather than just a cool idea an artist I like had.

I wasn't comfortable copying the idea when I thought it was that artist's original concept but Korean pop culture is fair game.

I'm sure you could have claimed those two girls with the fairies as prior art! But yeah, I know what you mean.

It's an adorable concept and you executed it very well.

I've got, like, 50,000 ideas in the pipeline. It's scary.

Dying of cute. They make me think of those crazy Victorian girls who made paper fairies and photographed them so realistically they had everyone convinced they were real.

Man, I did not think of them, though you're right.

Mostly what I thought of was "a genre that lets me torment small cute things hands-on! It was made for me!".

The shading is blessedly easy to cheat at!

Does it look wrong? Than just move your ass so the light source is coming at the right angle!
